Details on project:

rough-project-layout as of today (subject to change) is as follows;

explination of "breakdown of components" outline:

1. Development of Training phases [1 and 2] (designed to teach a reader to adapt to new interface [not designed to increase reading speed to a noticable degree])

(NOTE): Two approaches exist to creating this set of training phases (a) creation of colorised  font sets (b)creation of web baised application or  interface which will convert existing font into a colorized format within that interface. Approach (a) is a longer term project as there are complications, while approach (b) seems the simple alternitave, and is the approach that we are focused on at this point of development.

    (A).phase 1.0

--1. Color customised font sets for stand alone and web baised applications.

(a). target platforms for fonts and web baised application to be created

                (1). linux

(aa). an application or interface could be created that would take text

input and convert it to a colorized format within that application

only, or allow the colorised formatted text to transport to other

                            apps.

(bb). customised colorised font set that will work in text editors and

                           documents

                (2). windows (truetype [fonts])

(aa). I would like to see a colorised true type font set that could

be selected for use in any windows application that currently limits

to black and white, however all research i have conducted has

lead me to believe that the "nature" of fonts behavior within

windows "word processors" such as "works" or "word" dosn't allow

for the specific assignment of color for individual charicters within

                          a singular font set.

(b). Color schemes and info for Web baised application and font sets.

                1. http://colorvalue.blogspot.com  (color association)

(aa). to be updated regularly as new methods of color assignment are

                             presented

      --2. Web baised application.

(NOTE): The application includes features for ALL TRAINING PHASES

            (a). components

(1). A large text box designed to allow the end user to paste text in, for

the purpouse of converting that text to an alternitave colorised format.

(2). A button below the text box that when pressed converts the text to

                      colorised format.

(3).(optional) A button beside the "convert" button also below the text box

that allows the user to convert the text back to its origional form.

(4). Options menu in the form of a popup window or (if space allows)

across the top of the page with radio buttons or check boxes to

select options. (options discussed in "Features" below in this outline

            (b). options (features) required

                (1). check boxes

(a). "color shape" font _or_ "color only" font -conversion

(b). "standard vowel" _or_ "replaced vowel" -conversion

(c). [optional] select between standard or color blind scheme

(d). [optional] (would be nice) select "font size" 1 - 72 -conversion

(B). phase 1.5 (same outline as 1.0 with additions) below.

(NOTE:) this "half step" between phase 1 and 2 has been added to allow for a

"smother" transition between colorised fonts of phase1 and the "color only" font

including vowel replacement of phase 2.

        1. additions to phase 1.0.

            a. "alternet vowel set"(described in "abstract"  replaces existing "black"

vowels  and combined with font set from phase 1.

    (C). phase 2.0.

        1. color only font set "rectangles of color".

            a. target platform.

               1. windows same as phase 1.

               2. linux same as phase 1.

            b. upper vs. lower case "rectangles".

                1. upper case will be a black border "retangle" font set consisting of equil

sized and shaped charicters which will be colorized consistant with

color scheme described above in "phase 1".

                2. lower case will be a "color border rectangle" font set consisting of

sized and shaped charicters equil to the size and shape of uppercase.

where the color value of the border will be consistant with the coloration

of the body of that charicter.

2. Development of stand alone "interface" (specifically phase 3 and 4).

(NOTE): We are still working on the features to be included in this "stand alone" interface. A detailed outline of this text animation and conversion application will be avaliable in the days to follow, as for the time being, see Travis Barker on IRC chat channel #thetathema on the "openprojects network", for details concerning the on going planning and development of this portion of the project.
